Active or in-

Well, since there seems to be very little interest in my tracklaying feats, time for a question or 2.

How many of you out there are working on building a layout (be it small, medium or large).
How many of you are assembling kits?
And how many of you are armchairmodeling at the moment, having purchased some kits but wondering where to go to next?

I am still busy getting rid of my huge US N scale collection (not really much left) including a NZ120 DX kit with KiwiRail decals; and cleaning out the workshop/trainroom for future NZ120 projects. beside that I am still detailing, painting, decaling and weathering US N and H0 scale models for modellers here and abroad. not really much more done with my DL prototype as I have to build two BC Rail GE C40-8M models and a 'BatGirl' prototype in N scale for a friend in Switzerland and a bloke in OZ. (which one will get the 'BatGirl'?) ;-)

cheers...

Still working away on my twin tower build, tower one is completed whilst tower two waits for more angle bracing to arrive. In the meantime scenery work on flax making and planting continue in certain sections of the main layout. Pokaka looming fast, ready to attack with my 2 DA (AFK) brass kits, oh yea and the dubs where I left off last year

Thats 3 - (and I am interested in the tracklaying).

re Q1 - have three modules for Pendarves framed, with track plan for "Duntroon" laid out & "the Port" under trialling, awaiting some code 40 raail from 2mm Soc. - also the "Folio box" scene is underway, based around a coal mine which will form a branch of the Pendarves Railway Company's "empire".

re Q2 - have a station, an engine shed, a coal mine and J5, La, Lc wagons at various stages, plus a Dg body to fit to a Kato chassis, awaiting a DCC sound chip.

Also at various stages with the Ds?Dsc/Dh/Hitachi etch programmes, mostly awaitng UK sourced power units to test fit bodies against, and/or revised etch bodies.

re Q3 - also have some 2mm stuff to evaluate for future relevance to the NZ120 scene.

Roc, that will be in that funny larger scale won't it....

Did you consider building the towers in brass? Plastistrut to my mind is just a bit flimsy.

I'm busy working on an extension to my layout, progress is slow but still fun. Need a few bits from the train shop but tricky getting there at the moment with the CBD all closed down.

Re track making, I'm certainly interested in seeing progress. Fascinating stuff.

I'm currently working on an NZ120 module (1200mm x 450mm), and am aquiring bits and pieces for my DSG build.

As a modelling newby I'm building a small N scale layout to learn techniques.
And having discovered NZ120 have been avidly reading this blog and the nz120 forum so the next layout can be in the proper scale.
